NTSB Issues New Video Safety Alert Highlighting the Need for General Aviation Pilots to Exercise Vigilance in First Flight After Maintenance

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has issued another safety video highlighting the need for general aviation pilots to use "extra vigilance" in performing preflight inspections prior to flying for the first time after maintenance work has been performed on a plane.

Asiana Airlines Crash in Japan has Echoes of Fatal SFO Crash

An Asiana Airlines plane slammed into a communications antenna and slid off a runway during a botched landing attempt today at Hiroshima Airport in Japan. Asiana Flight OZ162 had departed from Seoul, South Korea's Incheon Airport. Authorities say 27 people were injured in the crash that parallels the Korean airline's fatal 2013 crash in San Francisco.

Many Questions Linger After Germanwings Flight 9525 Crash in France

On the morning of March 22, 2015, Germanwings Flight 9525 crashed into a mountainside in the French Alps, killing all onboard. Investigators have determined that the flight's co-pilot, 27-year-old Andreas Lubitz, locked himself in the cockpit of the Airbus A320-200 plane after the flight captain excused himself to use the restroom and deliberately steered the plane on a course for destruction, taking his own life and the lives of 149 others aboard the plane.
