When Americans board airplanes, they are putting their lives into the hands of pilots, airlines and aircraft manufacturers. But even when pilots do their jobs safely and even when planes are manufactured according to industry regulations, victims could still be injured or killed in accidents when aircraft design defects go ignored or are not addressed immediately.
Motorists may have reason to fear being involved in a drunk driving accident and being severely injured. Although people are aware of the many dangers that are associated with drunk driving and that people get arrested every day for committing the crime, many people do not think about drunk pilots causing aviation accidents when operating a plane.
Over the weekend a small plane crashed in San Diego County, killing a family of three. According to Cal Fire officials, the pilot of the plane was a 65-year-old man. His wife and his 19-year-old daughter were passengers on the small aircraft. The family had just left San Diego to head back home to Phoenix when the accident happened.
